A role that blends technical skills with sales skills.  You will be comfortable training customers, doing the sales pitch, and supporting distributors to build their business for the brand.  You will be able to identify opportunities in both projects and markets and go after them.  It is your strong technical skills that will provide you the confidence to be successful.



Generation AV is the sales representative for many leading professional, commercial, and residential audio and video brands in Asia Pacific, looking after sales and application support for those brands.  With its headquarters in Singapore, the Generation AV team is spread across the region to support our partners.

The Business Development Engineer is a technical position providing training, technical support, project design support to consultants, distributors, system integrators, and customers across the Asia Pacific region.  Focusing on all the Generation AV brands, this candidate will be the regional brand expert and have strong experience in installed sound.  The successful candidate will be based in Singapore, and will require extensive travel across the Asia Pacific region.


Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrating and training partners and customers on loudspeaker, amplifier, DSP, and IT networking technology, with a strong focus on the brands Generation AV represents
  • Setting up, testing, aligning, and demonstrating audio systems and solutions in an installed environment
  • An expert in IT networking within an AV environment
  • Understand control systems and how to integrate within AV installations
  • Travelling extensively in the region to provide on-site support, product/system training, demonstrations, support workshops/roadshows/exhibitions…
  • Working closely with sales teams to understand training needs, project support opportunities or rental company support needed in each country
  • Supporting distributors and partners with their system designs
  • Taking on the role of doing system designs in certain countries as and when needed
  • Troubleshooting with distributors and customers to resolve issues quickly
  • Communicating and working closely with the technical teams at the brands that GENERATION AV represents
  • Build strong relationships with key distributors, rental companies, engineers, consultants, system integrators across the region. Be the face of the brands
  • Write trip reports, clearly identify the actions, and follow up for completion
  • Stay up to date with all the latest product releases and future product releases from both the brands GENERATION AV represents, and the competition
