ABOUT THE TIN BUILDING

Built in 1907, The Tin Building sits by the waters of New York’s East River, between the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan’s Financial District. It served as the backdrop to the 200-year-old Fulton Fish Market – one of the largest wholesale seafood markets in the world. Damaged by fi re in 1995, and closed in 2005, The Tin Building sat vacant until acquired by Howard Hughes Corp and leased by multi- Michelin star winning, French-born celebrity chef Jean George.

REQUIREMENTS

The objective was to create an audio system that delivered full-fidelity sound, combined with balanced even coverage throughout the entire building. The challenge was to do this across the 34 zones and 9 sub-zones of the different businesses, with varying ambience and atmosphere objectives. Additionally, the audio system had to blend aesthetically into the carefully curated and vastly varied interior design cues of the project.

THE CHALLENGE

The Tin Building now services as a culinary melting pot, featuring six full-service restaurants, six fast casual food outlets, three bars, and private dining experiences, plus markets with breads, pastries, fruit and vegetables, meats, confectionery, spices and aromatics, olive oils, coffee, and more; personally crafted by Jean-Georges and the world’s best artisans.

METHODOLOGY

Over two hundred Sonance Professional Series loudspeakers were deployed throughout the project, including In-Ceiling, Pendant and Surface-Mount products across various sizes. Sonance’s consistent sonic voicing across form-factors and driver sizes allows the system to provide a seamless soundstage throughout the entire space, while Sonance’s laminated core transformer delivers full-fidelity performance in 70 Volts.

So, whether you are sitting inside, or outside if the weather is nice, having high quality, uniform music that varies by zone, was very important to him. Client expectations were clear – an immersive audio experience without the intrusion of visible speakers. The speakers had to be discreet yet powerful enough to enhance the overall experience. Hiding the speakers was a given requirement, but it was critical for Lelch AV to craft an environment where sound would become an integral part of the living space.

Central to their approach was the integration of James SA63 speakers, designed to seamlessly blend into the slatted wood ceilings while delivering impeccable audio quality. When drywall or wallpaper was the primary medium Sonance Invisible Speakers matched the aesthetic and performance needs of the client. Hiding technology outside was of equal importance. The James on-wall speakers hidden within the masonry along with James outdoor AT series created a barely visible immersive musical experience.

The Baltimore Ravens are a professional American football team based in Baltimore. The Ravens compete in the National Football League as a member of the American Football Conference North division. THE CHALLENGE

 Creating a first-class experience for athletes at the 200,000 square foot Ravens’ Under Armour Performance Center presented a unique challenge. In the past, the absence of synchronized sound throughout the space and the use of individual Bluetooth speakers hindered the overall training atmosphere. The need for a seamless audio system became evident as the Ravens aimed to elevate their training environment and provide a rich, motivating experience for their players. 

REQUIREMENTS

 Recognizing the significance of music in energizing and motivating individuals, the Ravens sought to partner with a sound provider that shared their commitment to excellence. The goal was not only to fill the space with sound but to ensure even coverage, incredible audio quality, and speakers designed to seamlessly blend into the architecture. The emphasis was on transforming the training space into a dynamic and energized environment, where athletes could focus on their workouts without distractions. 

RESULTS

Sonance rose to the occasion, delivering a high level of aesthetics and user-friendly functionality. The installation of 76 speakers and ten subwoofers aimed to create a seamless audio experience, ensuring that the energy and motivation carried throughout the entire facility. ABOUT KATARA TOWERS

The Iconic Towers of Lusail are an architectural translation of Qatar’s national seal, representing the traditional scimitar swords. Two hotels, a 5-star & Luxury 6-star hotel opened in 2022 with a total area of 300,000m2, the project was completed in time for the World cup being hosted in the Country, following ten years of construction. The venue has quickly become a true landmark in the gulf region.

The Polish History Museum builds a bridge
between the past and the present. In September
2023, the MHP opened on the grounds of the
Warsaw Citadel to the public. The design of the
new building was presented on 7 November
2016 at the Ministry of Culture and National
Heritage. It was decided that it would join
the existing 10th Pavilion Museum and Katyn
Museum at the Citadel, as well as the Museum
of the Polish Army.

THE CHALLENGE

With private events, tour groups, and animal encounters occurring simultaneously, the challenge was to deliver high quality sound at consistent sound levels throughout the premises, while ensuring volume levels were comfortable to listen to from any location.

Speakers also had to operate under extreme weather conditions as all installations would be outdoors. The team at Malibu Wine Safari knew that they needed even, balanced sound coverage and high-quality audio to elevate the unique experience that they offer. That’s when they reached out to LVX Marketing, the Sonance Southwest commercial manufacturer’s representative, to find an ideal commercial integrator for this project. Quiet Voice Audio in Valley Center, California were soon awarded this project, and turned to Sonance for their highly acclaimed outdoor audio solutions.

Professional audio integration is more than merely filling a space with sound. The vision for this install was to mix technology and sound with each of the different environments so that regardless of where guests were on the property, the sound would be evenly dispersed and comfortable to listen to. RESULT

From the immersive seasonal Light Tunnel experience, to numerous safari vehicles and multiple wedding venues throughout the property, the Malibu Wine Safari installation consists of 50 4.5” Satellite Speakers, 18 6.5” Satellite Speakers and seven 12” in-ground Subwoofers throughout the over 1,000-acre attraction to deliver perfectly even coverage and sound quality throughout each space. Additionally, Mariner speakers were mounted on all open-top safari vehicles to provide an immersive experience as guests explore the property. The Mariners’ IP-66 weatherproof construction safeguards the speakers against moisture and the elements. The placement of speakers throughout the property provides an impactful yet comfortable listening experience to help make each visit nothing short of magical.
