KOISHII AT ST. REGIS, MUMBAI, MA- HARASHTRA ENHANCES IT’S SOUND WITH A MARTIN AUDIO UPGRADE!

INDIA: Koishii is a sophisticated Peruvian-Japanese fusion restaurant and lounge in Mumbai, designed to be a cultur- al bridge that blends Japanese precision with Peruvian vibrancy. Koishii aims to redefine experiential dining, where each visit transcends mere culinary enjoyment to become an immersive, cultural experience. The concept behind Koishii merges the Japanese words Koi (), sym- bolizing the beauty of falling in love, and Itishi (LU), representing the profound dedication of doing something for someone you cherish. This ethos is woven into every aspect of Koishii, from its menu and ambiance to its service philosophy, making it an ideal venue for meaning- ful occasions or nights out with an international flair.
With a curated menu inspired by both traditional Japanese craftsmanship and the bold, colorful cuisine of Peru, Koishii delivers flavors that are fresh, innovative, and meticulously prepared. From Japanese-inspired sashimi and tempura to Peruvian ceviches and robust, spiced dishes, Koishii’s offerings are designed to balance delicate textures with rich, layered flavors.

About the Install:
To bring Koishii’s unique vision to life, the audio setup required a system that would match the venue’s high standards of ambiance, energy, and sound quality. Given their mission to provide an immersive, culturally rich experience, the client needed an audio solution that would deliver clarity and depth while being adapt- able to various events and moods. The sound system had to blend into Koishii’s elegant design while producing a powerful, crystal-clear sound that engages guests across the restaurant and lounge areas, whether for intimate dinners or lively social events.

At Koishii, the emphasis was on achieving a refined, immersive audio environment that matches the lounge’s upscale design and eclectic cultural influences. The challenge was to deliver robust, room-filling sound while maintaining clarity and precision, ensuring that every note resonates perfectly, whether during soft back- ground music or a lively party atmosphere.

To achieve this, the team selected a suite of high-performance products from Martin Audio and British Acoustics. The core of the system features Martin Audio CDD 15B loudspeakers, known for their ability to provide broad coverage with minimal distortion, ensuring every corner of the venue receives consistent sound. The Martin Audio X218 subwoofers enhance the low-end frequencies, delivering powerful bass that adds depth without overwhelming the space.

Control and customization were key for the venue, which led to the implementation of the Martin Audio DX 0.6 system controller, allowing for tailored sound adjust- ments across different areas. The system is further amplified using the robust BA 2 XM and BA 2 XXL amplifiers, which provide the necessary power and efficiency to maintain optimal sound levels throughout the venue.

About the City:
Mumbai (formerly called Bombay) is a densely populated city on India’s west coast. A financial center, it’s India’s largest city. On the Mumbai Harbour waterfront stands the iconic Gateway of India stone arch, built by the British Raj in 1924. Offshore, nearby Elephanta Island holds ancient cave temples dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport is about 16.9 km away from Koishii, it takes 39 mins to reach there. Lower Parel Railway Station is about 1.5 km away from the venue and it takes 9 mins to reach it from there.

This sound system has brought a new dimension to the venue, amplifying the ambiance and energy we envisioned for our guests. Each element of the audio setup has been meticulously crafted, creating an experience where every beat resonates deeply with the audience. It’s been rewarding to see our lounge and restaurant truly come to life, meeting the high standards we set for ourselves.

Mr. Rakesh kumar, Head of Engineering, Koishii.

Working with Martin Audio products has allowed us to deliver a soundscape that’s not only powerful but also harmoniously integrated with the lounge’s design. NEARLY 500 MARTIN AUDIO SPEAKERS HELP BRING TULLEYS FARM CHRISTMAS LIGHT FESTIVAL TO LIFE

Based in Crawley, Sussex, Tulleys Farm turns into a seasonal theme park in the Autumn and Winter months. It’s then that they promote an evolving programme of festivals and visitor attractions with ‘Shocktober’ (developing into a Pumpkin Festival), now followed by a newly inaugurated Christmas Light Festival through its various woodland trails, occupying the month of December.

Owned for the past four generations by the Beare family, to give an idea of scale at this pumpkin farm, when Martin Audio partners SWG Events were brought in to create an integrated and immersive sound and light trail—part of an overall Christmas experience—it required around 400 of the manufacturer’s ADORN A55T series loudspeakers, spanning 40 zones.

SWG Events were introduced to handle the inaugural Christmas Light Festival, which occupies an entirely new trail through the woods.

Head of Audio, Simon Purse, says the installation is an extension of the Pumpkin Festival where ADORN speakers already featured. For the Christmas light trail, wooden fencing follows a pathway through the trees where the ADORN speakers, weather-protected by their purpose-designed IP kits, are festooned along the route. These are powered by a series of Martin Audio VIA2004 and VIA5004 amplifiers.

The quality of the system has brought the whole festival alive.

Sam and Stuart Beare – Tulleys Farm

But it is within the 26 dedicated DX0.4 2-in/4-out network system processors that the magic takes place. “The client wanted to be able to control everything from a central position, and with the DX0.4s all on the same network we were able to use the Martin software in a single location. From here, any adjustments could be made to the sound remotely—and all 26 devices can be controlled from anywhere with access to our wireless network, which works remarkably well.”

He adds, “Of the 40 different zones each might have a different track or require a different level—all fed and adjustable from that master control location over a Dante network.” In terms of security there is a live mic override which ducks the system in the event of an alert.

Since the experience needs to be constantly evolving in and out of different themes, SWG are also sending timecode down the same network to various locations, as the content—played out from a media server—works through different genres … from love songs, to classical, rock and disco—synced to the various areas that require programmed lighting. Projection video reinforcement is also tied into the show control to further stimulate the senses.

Leading the project for SWG Events is Dan Jenkins. “It’s very much Dan’s vision of system deployment and flexible control,” says Purse. “In fact it took eight of us a month to put everything in.”

However, it doesn’t end there: the trail opens out to a pair of large lakes which offer stunning views of the lights, and alternate between different shows. To match this dynamic, SWG Events have beefed up the sound system, installing 48 Martin Audio Blackline X12 high performance speakers. “Since the lightshows are more impactful it required a bit more SPL and low end,” confirms Purse. A further area provides a live band stage and lasers.

Summarising the project Simon Purse says it’s the sheer scale of the event at Tulleys that makes this festival season special. “What they have achieved in a year is massive,” he says.

Added Sam and Stuart Beare, “Working with SWG Events for the implementation of the Martin Audio system has been completely seamless. The quality of the system has brought the whole festival alive.”

Lake Sumter State college

The Everett A. Kelly Convocation Center is home to Lake-Sumpter State College’s  National Junior College Athletic Association volleyball program. With seating for up to 1100 spectators, the convocation center also hosts local high school basketball games and tournaments. Outside of athletics, the facility can be transformed to hold elegant events such as award ceremonies, banquets, and special events. A key event each semester is Commencement, where hundreds of students and their families gather in this location to celebrate a significant milestone.

The Install

When Sound intelligibility was not adequate for many of the activities taking place in the gym, staff reached out to Daniel Hunt, Director of Business Development of JSC Systems, to design and deploy an AV system with better intelligibility.

“Like many gyms, LSSCs had lengthy reverberation. The spoken word accompanying games and other activities sounded muffled at best, so we knew we had to implement a system with better directivity,” said Hunt. “The old system was also underpowered, and we knew a perfect way to correct that particular issue was to deploy amps from LEA.”

The system utilized Crestron DSPs — one courtside to interface with event mics and another in the sound booth rack. LED displays adorn the walls which also double as digital scoreboards.

Hunt deployed several Connect Series 704 amplifiers to power the subwoofers and horns installed around the gymnasium. The IoT-enabled 4-channel 704 provides 700 watts per channel, supports Hi-Z (70V or 100V) and Lo-Z selectable by channel, and features Smart Power Bridge technology. With three ways to connect, the school can engage the built-in Wi-Fi access point, connect to the center’s Wi-Fi, or connect to the local area network via Cat5 or Cat6 cable.

The Connect Series delivers an industry-first professional amplifier family to feature cloud connectivity, a revolutionary advancement and a significant benefit for anyone maintaining the systems. With LEA Cloud, AV teams can remotely control and monitor the amplifiers regardless of the location or time of day. Whether from within the gymnasium or elsewhere, controlling the Connect Series amplifiers from afar helps teams work more efficiently, reducing travel and saving time and money.

THE CONCLUSION

“Taming the reverberation in a gym isn’t easy — the high ceilings, hard bleachers, and parquet floors combined with down-firing loudspeakers is a testament to JSC’s capabilities,” said Brian Pickowitz, VP of Marketing for LEA Professional. “We’re very pleased to have played a role in elevating the audio experience at LSSC.”

A special thanks to the team at JSC Systems for recommending Connect Series amplifiers to Lake-Sumter State College for this installation. We’re thrilled at the opportunity to collaborate and ensure unparalleled sound quality for many years ahead.
