Lea Amps For Jerry Richardson Stadium

UNC Charlotte’s Division I FCS football team debuted in 2013 at Jerry Richardson Stadium, a venue with a base capacity of 15,000, expandable to 40,000. The need for a sound system upgrade became evident as the team prepared to join the American Athletic Conference. To elevate the crowd experience, the university turned to LEA Professional’s award-winning amplifiers.

👷‍♂️ Integrator: CV Lloyde

🎶 Audio Spaces:  Fieldhouse & Back of House

🦈 Product Used: Connect Series 354D  (Multiple)

THE VENUE

Jerry Richardson Stadium is home to the University of Charlotte 49ers football program, which began its inaugural season in 2013. The Football Stadium Complex encompasses the Jerry Richardson Stadium, the Judy W. Rose Football Center, McColl-Richardson Field, and two practice fields. The stadium features a 6,636 square-foot press box with media seating, a university box, and television and radio booths on the west sideline at the concourse level. The field house includes coaches’ offices, meeting rooms, locker rooms, weight and training rooms, a 1,920 square-foot Academic Center, a 2,757 square-foot tiered classroom, and a 5,947 square-foot Hospitality Deck.

THE INSTALL

The athletic staff contacted Stephen Morris, President of C.V. Lloyde AudioVisual, to help revitalize the audio system. The university wanted a more reliable and robust system that could energize the crowd with the actions down on the field.

“The old sound system was designed for a small FCS-style stadium, and UNC Charlotte needed a system that reflected the current status of their program in FBS football,” said Morris. “While top-notch sound quality was of critical importance to UNC Charlotte, they also wanted amplifiers that were reliable and easy to use, and LEA amplifiers fit the bill perfectly.”

Morris’s team installed multiple Connect Series 354D amplifiers to power the immersive audio experience in the stadium’s fieldhouse. With 96kHz-capable Dante and AES67 connectivity options, the IoT-enabled 4-channel 354D provides 350 watts per channel, supports Hi-Z (70V or 100V) and Lo-Z selectable by channel, and features two Smart Power Bridge channels. With three ways to connect, the university can engage the built-in Wi-Fi access point, connect to the stadium’s Wi-Fi, or connect to the local area network via Cat5 or Cat6 cable.

The Connect Series delivers an industry-first professional amplifier family to feature cloud connectivity, a revolutionary advancement and a significant benefit for anyone maintaining the systems. With LEA Cloud, AV teams can remotely control and monitor the amplifiers regardless of the location or time of day. Whether from within the sphere or a different continent, controlling the Connect Series amplifiers from afar helps teams work more efficiently, reducing travel and saving time and money.

THE CONCLUSION

The impact of a powerful sound system on the game-day atmosphere at Jerry Richardson Stadium has not gone unnoticed. Matt Messina, Associate Athletic Director for Broadcast, Video, and Technology at UNC Charlotte, shared his enthusiasm, stating:

“The new sound system is great—it really gets our crowd going. It’s great to see the excitement when we play that intro video, and the fact that the stadium sound system can now get those fans engaged and get them hyped for a game in the stadium is very gratifying to us.”

A special thanks to the teams at UNC Charlotte and C.V. Lloyde AudioVisual for choosing our amps for this incredible installation. We’re thrilled at the opportunity to collaborate with you and ensure unparalleled sound quality for many years ahead.

LEA AMPS FOR IMMERSIVE AUDIO EXPERIENCE BIESZCZADY CULTURAL HERITAGE CENTER

To expand tourist offerings and educate people on the region’s history and culture, the Bieszczady Cultural Heritage Center decided to create an immersive educational experience featuring Connect Series amps.

THE SPEC

🏢 Venue:  Bieszczady Cultural Heritage Center| Bieszczady Mountains, Poland

👷‍♂️ Integrators: Group AV

🎶 Audio Spaces: Multi-room, Immersive Audio Experience

🦈 Product Used: Connect Series 354D  (8)

THE VENUE

The outcome of this project was the creation of the Bieszczady Cultural Heritage Center. Known locally as Bieszczadzkie Centrum Dziedzictwa Kulturowego, the center was built on the grounds of a former refinery. The cultural center includes multimedia rooms, three exhibition zones, and a concert hall. However, the primary attraction is an audiovisual show about multiculturalism, the richness of nature, the age of oil, and the economic development of the Bieszczady Mountains. It is organized in a specially designed room where the content is conveyed by influencing the senses and immersing viewers in virtual reality.

THE INSTALL

Creating an immersive AV experience of this nature hadn’t been undertaken in the area before, so venue staff contacted [integrator name, title, organization], to help implement the audio system. The heritage center recognized that audio was equally important in immersing guests in the storytelling of the region’s history and culture.

“The cultural center wanted guests to experience deep immersion in the presented content, enabling them to better understand and appreciate the cultural heritage of the Bieszczady region,” said Tomasz Zalewiski, Technical Director of Group AV. “We immediately thought of using LEA amplifiers for the project.”

Zalweiski’s team installed eight Connect Series 354D amplifiers to power the immersive audio experience in the heritage center. With 96 kHz-capable Dante and AES67 connectivity options, the IoT-enabled 4-channel 354D provides 350 watts per channel, supports high-Z (70V or 100V) and low-Z selectable by channel, and features two Smart Power Bridge channels. With three ways to connect, the center can engage the built-in Wi-Fi access point, connect to the building’s Wi-Fi, or connect to the local area network via Cat5 or Cat6 cable.

One of the key reasons the AV team chose Connect Series amplifiers was their cloud-based management capability — a revolutionary advancement and a significant benefit for anyone maintaining the systems. With LEA Cloud, AV teams can remotely control and monitor the amplifiers regardless of the location or time of day. Whether from within the sphere or a different continent, controlling the Connect Series amplifiers from afar helps teams work more efficiently, reducing travel and saving time and money.

“The LEA Cloud allowed for easy adjustment and monitoring of the system from anywhere,” said Zalewiski. “This enables straightforward system customization and monitoring, ensuring operational stability and flexibility in management.”

THE CONCLUSION

Through modern AV technology, the Bieszczady Cultural Heritage Center offers rich cultural content and provides unforgettable experiences that inspire and educate visitors, enhancing the quality of the region’s tourist offerings.

“Between the state-of-the-art projection system and superior audio, visitors to the heritage center experience immersive AV that makes the storytelling come alive,“ said Brian Pickowitz, VP of Marketing at LEA Professional. “We’re pleased that our amplifiers could contribute to this highly immersive experience.”

LEA AMPS FOR DOLBY ATMOS STUDIO IN ROMANIA

When WJB Media & Ines Sound were looking to build out the first certified Dolby Atmos music studio in Bucharest, Romania they turned to LEA Professional to amplify the space.

THE SPEC

🏢 Venue: Dolby Atmos Studio | Bucharest, Romania

👷‍♂️ Integrators: WJB Media

🎶 Audio Spaces: Entire studio

🦈 Product Used: Connect Series 354 (2), Connect Series 702 (1), & Connect Series 164 (1)

THE VENUE

The visionary behind the studio is legendary sound engineer Joe Hellow, who has worked with some of the top artists and labels before using the pandemic experience to redefine what was next in music production. This was Hellow’s second experience working with LEA Professional amps, having already created a similar studio in Nashville, TN.

THE INSTALL

The team’s end goal in creating the studio was to ensure more engineers and artists could experience the immersive effects of Dolby Atmos first-hand. The studio, which runs a 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos system with Lipinski speakers and four LEA Professional amplifiers, is already attracting musical talent from far and wide.

“What sticks out to me with LEA technology is that everything you want in an amp is there,” said Hellow, Executive Music Supervisor with WJB Media. “If you want to adjust the crossovers or sensitivity, or put them to sleep if you’re not listening to music and automatically wake them up, and more. It’s the richest feature set I’ve ever seen with an amp.”

Sound clarity is the reason why LEA Professional amplifiers pair so well with the Dolby Atmos system, so the studio installed two Connect Series 354 amplifiers, a Connect Series 702 amplifier, and a Connect Series 164 amplifier to power the immersive audio experience.

The IoT-enabled 4-channel 354 provides 350 watts per channel into 2, 4, and 8 ohms, 70Vrms, and 100Vrms and supports two Smart Power Bridge channels. Conversely, the 2-channel 702 delivers 700 watts per channel, while the 4-channel 164 provides 160 watts per channel. The 702 and 164 support high-Z (70V or 100V) and low-Z selectable by channel.

Because Hellow is based in the US, he utilized the LEA Cloud to maintain the system remotely.

“All of the amps are connected via Ethernet, so it’s easy to jump on any computer worldwide and log into the devices,” said Hellow. “It’s very convenient for many aspects of system maintenance, from simple adjustments to more advanced tunings.”

THE CONCLUSION

“It’s a testament to the power of the LEA Cloud that you can support a Dolby Atmos studio from the other side of the world,” said Brian Pickowitz, VP of Marketing at LEA Professional. “This installation is a bellwether of our amps’ capabilities, and we’re very pleased to be part of such an auspicious undertaking.”

We want to thank  WJB Media for choosing LEA on this install and we hope to provide quality sound for many years to come.

🦈 Product Used: Connect Series 704D (1) & Connect Series 1504D (1)

THE VENUE

Founded with a vision to create a gathering place for the community, Varsity Ice House opened its doors to Grand Forks. Varsity Ice curates the ideal environment for any hockey fan to watch their favorite team, with a TV everywhere you turn, great food, and flowing drinks to create an unforgettable experience.

THE INSTALL

Varsity Ice reached out to Paul Hagen at Site on Sound to specify a personalized sound system that fit the needs of bar staff and guests. Based in Fargo and with over 100 years of combined experience, the Site on Sound team was well-equipped to assess the needs of Varsity Ice and install the best solution, which came from LEA Professional.

“I use LEA amps almost exclusively,” said Hagen. “The LEA Cloud allows me to log into the system and make changes when I’m not onsite and lets me keep an eye on my customers. LEA integrates well with everything else, so using them was a no-brainer.”

Hagen installed one CS1504D, a 4-channel amplifier with 1,500 watts per channel to power the bar’s main speakers, and a CS704D, a 4-channel amplifier with 700 watts per channel to run a few fill areas inside the bar as well as to power the outdoor area. Hagen also utilized the LEA Cloud platform to remote control and monitor from afar, improving response times and the overall quality of service for Varsity Ice.

As part of the Dante Connect Series, the world’s first Internet of Things- (IoT) enabled professional-grade amplifiers, the 1504D and 704D provided the power and flexibility Hagen needed for their installation, which was sectioned into two zones on the control system running eight zones of speakers. Also, with three ways to connect, the Dante Connect Series allows integrators the ability to engage the built-in Wi-Fi access point, connect to the venue’s Wi-Fi, or use an existing local area network via Cat5 or Cat6 cable.

“The Dante Connect amplifiers simplified everything,” added Hagen. “With the Dante amps and the Dante encoders, the only other hardware I had in the whole place was the jukebox. It made programming and installation easier.”

THE CONCLUSION

“There’s nothing quite like cheering on your favorite team alongside other fans, and we’re proud that we get to elevate that experience for Varsity Ice guests,” said Nathan Ridgway, National Sales Manager at LEA Professional. “This installation proves the power of innovative, top-quality audio, can turn an already exciting experience into an unforgettable one.”

We would like to thank everyone at Varsity Ice House and Site on Sound for choosing LEA on this install and we hope to provide quality sound for many years to come.

Inside the rustic walls of The Trap North, guests enjoy delicious food, great company, and, most importantly, outstanding entertainment. The Smithfield, Rhode Island restaurant prides itself on its unique and mouth-watering menu that puts a twist on traditional pub fare with distinctive flavor concepts and pairings.

THE INSTALL

Visiting The Trap North on any Wednesday through Saturday night gives guests an unforgettable dining experience. With live music playing throughout the restaurant, the food isn’t the only star of the night. To ensure every note is heard throughout the restaurant’s spacious interior and, in the summer months, on the outdoor patio, The Trap North contacted Mark D’Elia at SoundFX in West Warwick, RI. With over 30 years of experience in AV integration, SoundFX is the leading provider of AV solutions for businesses in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

“I like to design systems that don’t require service calls on weekends,” said D’Elia. “So I try to come up with something that I think will be super easy to use, very reliable, and can be fixed if I’m not physically onsite. LEA Professional is that system. The LEA Cloud allows me to troubleshoot from anywhere and has made a drastic difference in my response times, it’s improved the entire experience.”

D’Elia specified three Connect Series 704 4-channel amplifiers with 700 watts per channel, and one Connect Series 168 8-channel amplifier with 160 watts per channel, along with utilizing the LEA Cloud platform. As part of the Network Connect Series, the world’s first Internet of Things- (IoT) enabled professional-grade amplifiers, the CS704 and CS168 are perfectly suited for small to medium-scale installations such as The Trap North.

To accommodate every area in the restaurant, the sound system can be remotely controlled by a staff member in each zone with strategically placed controllers. He notes LEA Professional’s quality among the top reasons he has chosen to standardize upon them. “We chose LEA because of their quality, reliability, and flexibility. We like the fact that you get a ton of power. There’s a ton of good sound quality coming out of these amps, and it can’t be beat.”

“The Trap North atmosphere is absolutely electric during the night, and the live entertainment backed by a great audio system design and installation is responsible for that,” said Brian Pickowitz, VP of Marketing at LEA Professional. “This venue perfectly represents how pristine audio can bring people together, and we’re honored to have contributed to The Trap North and SoundFX’s success.”

We would like to thank everyone at The Trap North and SoundFX for choosing LEA on this install and we hope to provide quality sound at Inside Out for many years to come.

LEA PROFESSIONAL PARTNERS WITH CCI SOLUTIONS | GLORIA DE CRISTO

Lea Professional Partners With Cci Solutions | Gloria De Cristo

With a congregation size between 50 to several hundred, the church staff recognized the limitations of their outdated AV system. Seeking to enhance speech intelligibility and music reproduction for their parishioners, they turned to LEA Professional’s Connect Series amplifiers and CCI Solutions to get the job done.

THE SPEC

🏢 Venue: Gloria De Cristo | Yuma, Arizona

👷‍♂️ Integrators: CCI Solutions

🎶 Audio Spaces: Fellowship Hall and Nave

🦈 Product Used: Connect Series 352 (1) & Connect Series 1504 (1)

THE VENUE

While a large portion of Gloria de Cristo’s congregation is made up of local churchgoers, there is also a community of virtual attendees from around the world. Located near Marine Corps Air Station Yuma (MCAS Yuma), the church often welcomes members from the military base in person and virtually. Virtual attendees can stream church services from anywhere in the world to feel connected to the church while deployed.

THE INSTALL

To make this happen, Gloria de Cristo staff reached out to CCI Solutions to design and integrate a sound system to fit their needs. CCI Solutions is on a mission to provide the right amount of technology so churches can achieve their vision and deliver their message, without distractions.

“The church came to me intending to incorporate a sound system that was a couple of decades old and then solve the reverberation issues preventing clear audio,” said CCI Systems Consultant Mike Robertson. “With a strong military audience, we wanted to ensure everyone could stay connected with the church via web streams that were easy to hear and understand. It was important to offer that accessibility to all.”

Robertson assessed Gloria de Cristo’s needs and specified one Connect Series 1504 in the nave and one Connect Series 352 in the fellowship hall. The CS1504 is a 4-channel amplifier with 1,500 watts per channel, while the CS352 is a 2-channel amplifier with 350 watts per channel. As part of the Network Connect Series, the world’s first Internet of Things- (IoT) enabled professional-grade amplifiers, both are well-suited for installations requiring high flexibility, making them the perfect choice for Gloria de Cristo’s widespread congregation.

“One of the coolest things about LEA Professional’s technology is the all-in-one capabilities,” added Robertson. “We were able to put everything on the CS1504 in the nave and everything on the CS352 in the fellowship hall. Connect Series is easy to integrate and operate, which can be a game changer for churches that don’t have tech support on site.”

THE CONCLUSION

CCI has been working with LEA Professional technology for a while, utilizing the amplifiers regularly in PA system installations. Robertson notes LEA’s flexibility and capabilities among the top reasons for standardizing on their technology.

“Ensuring the best possible audio experience for every guest is paramount,” said Scott Robins, VP of Sales at LEA Professional. “Our Connect Series amplifiers have elevated the church’s AV offerings, so every member can focus on the service instead of the outdated audio system.”

A special thanks to the CCI Solutions team for choosing our amps for this incredible installation. We’re thrilled at the opportunity to collaborate with you and ensure unparalleled sound quality for many years ahead.
