It’s been exactly one year since we first announced LEA Professional to the Pro Audio/AV industry. And in that year, what started as a vision, rapidly unfolded into reality. Now, 365 days later, our humble startup, is transformed into a real force within professional audio. The Shark Fin logo has traveled the world far and wide and at every step, we’ve been met with excitement and encouragement. So today, as LEA turns one year old, we’d like to reflect on the progress we’ve made in such a short time. And who better to do that, than our very own Founder and CEO, Blake Augsburger.

Martin Audio has made a dynamic start to the New Year with the announcement of the X218 subwoofer, extending yet further the company’s best ever selling portable series, BlacklineX.
BlacklineX, announced back in 2016, was the first new series developed under the management of Dom Harter and was an instant hit, delivering performance and value for a range of applications including portable sound reinforcement and stage monitoring for live bands, DJ’s and corporate events, to installations in nightclubs, bars, commercial spaces and Houses of Worship.
Martin Audio has made a dynamic start to the New Year with the announcement of five new products, specifically for Asian markets.
First out of the gates is the new S. Series, comprising three passive two-way systems — the S.10, S.12 and S.15. These combine the Martin Audio signature sound of warmth, clarity and smooth response with the vocal presence required for a fun Karaoke experience and designed specifically for small-medium entertainment installations and family KTV.
So successful has been the debut of Martin Audio’s new WPS line array on the Eddie Izzard tour that Capital Sound has immediately taken the opportunity to extend its inventory, after winning the bid for the Tim Minchin tour—since the two UK itineraries overlapped.
WPS is the latest model in the Wavefront Precision series, which features scalable resolution for greater flexibility in amplifier management and optimisation of coverage, consistency and control. WPS comprises 2 x 8” LF drivers, 4 x 4” midrange drivers and 4 x 1” exit HF compression drivers loaded by a moulded HF horn which occupies the full width of the enclosure.
Hangzhou is the capital of the Zhejiang province on China’s eastern seaboard, and considered one of the country’s most prosperous areas. Its diverse nightlife scene has just been further enriched with the opening of a brand new One Third club destination in a former locomotive depot, another of the NOA’s Arc Group’s premium entertainment ventures.
The third in the chain (including one in Beijing) the 2,500 capacity dance venue, specialising in Hard style, has been equipped with Martin Audio’s award-winning MLA Multicellular Loudspeaker Array.
As is now customary, Hyde Park played host to the final weekend of its long season recently, with Proms in the Park on the Saturday making way for BBC Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park the following day.
This also brought the curtain down on a successful summer at the Park for Capital Sound, and their award-winning MLA PA from Martin Audio, following its ten-day stint at British Summer Time two months earlier.
Marking the start of the summer season in China, the Xi’an Strawberry Festival was one of the first major multi-day festivals of 2019 and featured a Martin Audio PA on the main stage.
The event included multiple stages, many top Chinese acts and unique indie foreign acts over the two days. The festival included Chinese rock legends New Pants, well known R&B singer and producer Fang Datong, creative singer Wang Shi’an, Tizzy T & Man Shuk, the young generation’s leading female rapper Wan Nida, and avant-garde Japanese act Yahyel.
China’s latest bbR nightclub has opened in Guangzhou, serving up a heady mix of Hard style, Trance and Drum & Bass to crowds of up to 3,000, through a Martin Audio MLA Compact loudspeaker array.
Owned by Wang Bing, founder of the Lili Marleen club chain, and following the success of bbR in Shenzhen, the installation was carried out by the technical team atSino Hui Feng Audio, the Martin Audio Chinese distributor.
Celebrating its 20th anniversary year, and extended to five days for the 2019 edition, the mighty Rock In Japan festival also marked the Japanese debut of Martin Audio’s flagship Wavefront Precision Longbow (WPL).
Running on seven stages over two weekends at Hitachi Seaside Park, music lovers from all across Japan congregated at the location. Unlike other large-scale festivals, this specialises in home grown talent and featured some of Japan’s biggest acts.
