Connect Series LEDs: The Colors of the Shark Fin Explained

Our CONNECTSERIES amplifiers are intentionally designed with no front panel knobs, buttons, or controls. The reason for this was to maintain a sleek and industrial design while also preventing any unwanted tampering or adjustments to the user settings. However, we did want the front panel to include an array of information that would help installers quickly check the status of their units. One of those status features is the actual Shark Fin logo itself. The Shark Fin logo located on the front panel of the amplifier changes between four main colors, each of which indicates a different amplifier state. The Shark Fin logo will illuminate GREEN when AC power is plugged in but the unit is off, BLUE when the unit is on, CYAN when the units is undergoing a factory reset, and MAGENTA when the unit is undergoing a firmware update.

MARTIN AUDIO ANNOUNCES FIRST IOS APP – FOR BLACKLINEX POWERED

Martin Audio has announced the availability of its first ever iOS app, XP Connect, for control and streaming for its popular self-powered portable series, BlacklineX Powered.

When BlacklineX Powered launched, users were able to access the built-in three-channel mixer and onboard Bluetooth streaming by utilising the rotary panel controls on the back of the loudspeakers. Now all of that functionality is brought to life in an intuitive, colourful app making it more convenient for the user.

MLA’S ‘HARD AVOID’ HELPS SEOUL’S ARTS CENTRE ACHIEVE ITS OBJECTIVES

The Seoul Foundation for Arts & Culture (SFAC) recently commissioned the installation of a Martin Audio MLA Mini /MSX loudspeaker array in its new Youth Arts Centre. Funded by donations, the facility has been designed for young people in the Korean capital to fulfil their artistic potential, and put them in touch with other creative hubs around the world via the internet.

Founded in 2003, the Foundation had been seeking to create Seoul as a platform where diverse values of culture and art could be expressed, and The Youth Arts Centre was created as part of this activity. The facility itself had originally been donated by a private school foundation named Wonsuk.

Over 1,700 people have signed up for the day of action today, as part of the #WeMakeEvents ‘Red Alert’ campaign. The campaign aims to highlight the critical condition of the live events industry to government and the press, and follows on from the #LightItInRed campaign which took place in July. A number of journalists and politicians have been invited to board a boat at Westminster Pier, which will sail through four ‘arenas’ at iconic landmarks of the capital. The four ‘arenas’ will be along London’s Southbank at the London Eye, Royal Festival Hall, National Theatre and Tate Modern. Attendees are encouraged to wear red clothing, and download an app that will light their phone in red. They are also advised to keep at least one metre apart and wear a face mask. In addition to the event in London, professionals across the UK are encouraged to stage their own ‘Red Alert’ events by lighting buildings and venues in red, and supporting the campaign across social media. Martin Audio has been supporting the PLASA led #WeMakeEvents campaign which highlights the plight of the UK live events industry and the desperate need for additional Government support to this highly technical and specialised sector. The campaign culminated with a spectacular day of action with up to 5,000 people lining the banks and bridges of the River Thames to raise awareness of the crisis with politicians and the wider public.

The live events industry was the first to be impacted by the global shutdown as a result of the pandemic and will be the last to return to work. It can only exist when large scale gatherings can be held safely, which is simply not possible until sometime next year and even then, the future is uncertain.
